I think that if you have a moment like that, where he lowers the bridge to get his helmet, and the character is in full control of the situation, or in other words... it's an absurd moment, the character wouldn't have done that anyway, you should go through with it and ... well.. raise the bridge back. the enemy shouldn't be able to take advantage of that situation simply because it's not their "moment", it's his. but they could have brought a huge ram and broken in just immediately afterwards :D anyway, I love the ending :P hahaha, awesome :D although I would have had him raise the bridge back and have them enter the castle anyway in some other way.
